God Ain’t Petty, He Is Patient - Part 2
God Ain‘t Petty, He Is Patient, we can count on this! Consider this thought: have you ever wondered how God responds to our mistakes, especially when we seem to repeat them? Unlike human reactions that can be brutal, God's response is rooted in patience and love. Let's explore a few scenarios to see how God’s patience shines through even when we seem to have forgotten how to shine in his likeness.
What If I Lied Again - After I Was Already Forgiven for Lying?
How would God show patience?
Knowing God Ain’t Petty - He Is Patient, makes it easier to understand how He sees our struggle with being honest about our Christian flaws including the tendency to be unforgiving. We should quickly forgive others, just as God quickly forgave us. Yet, we still have a tendency to fall back into old habits. God understands that struggle. He is available to help guide us through one flaw at a time.
Although there might be some people who immediately start doing almost everything right- once they have given their life to Christ; it’s not the majority of us. Yes, the majority of us might have the greatest desire to take that 180 degree turn. But, it is a challenge.
Yet, instead of giving up on us, thankfully, God helps us through our bad moments, and He gently convicts us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives inside of us. He urges us to seek forgiveness and strive for truthfulness. And, God doesn’t hold grudges or keep a tally of our wrongs. Instead, He offers a fresh start each time we repent. Key phrase to remember: “we must repent!” Further, since God Ain’t Petty, He Is Patient, we are allowed to give ourselves a little bit of grace.
What If I Doubt God's Plan for My Life?
How would God show patience?
Doubting God’s plan is something many of us face, especially when life doesn't go as expected. It can sometimes feel like things should be going a lot better because of our faithfulness. When that doesn’t happen, it can be very disheartening. We watch other believers moving about life joyfully and full of hope, but it doesn’t look that great for us.
Don’t be discouraged. Remember - God Ain’t Petty, He Is Patient! We can rely on God to respond with patience. He continually guide us through His Word, also by sending people into our lives who encourage us, and by providing signs and experiences that gently steer us back to trusting Him. He understands that our faith journey is a process and He walks with us every step of the way. We are not alone.
What If I Fall Back Into Bad Habits?
How would God show patience?
Well, here’s presenting ourselves with another opportunity to see that God Ain’t Petty, He Is Patient. Surely, falling back into bad habits can make us feel like total failures. Yet, God’s patience shines brightly as He waits for us to recognize our mistakes and turn back to Him.
Sometimes, recognizing our own mistakes is harder than pointing out other peoples mistakes. We can see their wrongs quickly. Not so quickly when it gets right down to us.
Even so, God offers us strength through the Holy Spirit to overcome these habits and He provides continuous support for us through prayer, scriptures, and by sending fellow believers to encourage us through and remind us that God Ain’t Petty, He Is Patient.
What If I Struggle to Forgive Others?
How would God show patience?
Forgiveness is tough, especially when someone has deeply hurt us. God Ain’t Petty, He’s Patient, so he methodically works in our hearts, helping us to understand the importance of forgiveness. He doesn't rush us but allows us time to process our emotions and lean on Him for the strength to forgive. He models perfect forgiveness through Jesus, reminding us that we, too, are forgiven.
Colossians 4;32 reads - And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Let this be a constant reminder that we should forgive, even if it takes a little longer for some to do than others.
What If I Feel Unworthy of God's Love?
How would God show patience?
Firstly, you would not be alone. God Ain’t Petty, He’s Patient. Even thought we might have feelings of unworthiness, it can be overwhelming, it comes with the journey. Moses felt unworthy, David felt unworthy, Saul felt unworthy, yet God used them all in a mighty way. God’s patience is evident as He continually reassures us of our worth through His unconditional love. Lastly, He reminds us through scripture and prayer that we are His beloved children. He patiently waits for us to embrace our identity in Him, never turning away despite our insecurities.
Final Thoughts
God’s patience is unlike anything we experience in our daily interactions with everyone else. It's steadfast, it’s enduring, and it’s always accompanied by love. No matter how many times we mess up, or how many times we doubt God, or how frequently we struggle with life’s challenges, God’s response remains patient and forgiving.
Remember, God Ain’t Petty—He Is Patient. He’s constantly guiding us toward becoming the best versions of ourselves, and the best disciples. So, next time you find yourself in a “what if I reacted badly situation”, take a moment to reflect on how God’s patience is powerful and healing, and filled with such great love, it can’t help but have a positive and promising impact on us. He can quickly get us right back on track. So, don’t sleep on His ability to do the impossible always!
How Our Fashion Choices Spread The Gospel!
When we wear clothing with Christian symbols or bible verses or key Christian phrases, the message is two-fold. It (1) boldly states that we are believers and it (2) opens the door to a conversation about Jesus to those who might be curious enough to ask us about the goodness and grace of God.
If we consider ourselves Fashion Forward, then we will select those fashion pieces that reflect God in a powerful outfit and show that we have both “faith and fashion.”
At Bible-ish®, we take Godly pride in every one of our products, starting with the collection first. Each of our collections is based upon a Bible verse and/or a popular biblical character. We’ve addressed “forgiveness” in this blog post. One of our most popular collections is the “Forgiven Collection”. It is based upon the woman who had sinned and would have been stoned to death if it had not been for Jesus standing up for her by making ONE bold statement: “Let any who is without sin cast the first stone.” NO STONES were cast. (John 8:7)
