God Ain’t Petty, He Is Kind - Part 2

God Ain’t Petty, He Is Kind - Part 2 brings us some practical scenarios to help us further understand the beauty of God’s “not petty” nature. We all have moments when we don’t act our best. And, the amazing thing about God is that His kindness never wavers.

It doesn’t matter how many times we mess up. He’s there, we just need to call on Him. Let’s consider some behaviors we might be ashamed of and cannot conceive of how God would still be kind towards us in spite of our behavior. Let’s see how God’s kindness shines through our everyday struggles.

What If I Was Mean to My Sister After I Learned to Do Better?

How would God still show kindness toward me?

Even if you’ve been mean to your sister despite knowing better; it won’t change God.  His kindness remains constant. He understands our human imperfections and offers forgiveness as well as love. When we take our cares to Him, He ear is open to hear us and he wants to help. If you let Him in; He will change you.

When we express our sorrowfulness to God; He listens, and forgives us. Once we receive forgiveness, He gently prompts us to apologize and mend our relationships. By receiving us with kindness, He shows us how to extend the same kindness to others - because God Ain’t Petty, He Is Kind.

What If I Ignored Someone Who Needed Help?

Then how would God still show kindness toward me?

Ignoring someone in need, when we are able to help can make us feel guilty. Because we are Christians we should have compassion for others and try our best to help them when if we can. Therefore, when we don’t follow the examples God sets for us in His word, guilty feelings start to convict us.

We know that God Ain’t Petty, He is kind, and sometimes we might think to ourselves, that’s God, not me! However, we’ve been on the receiving end of God’s kindness many times. He inspires us to be more compassionate and considerate, and often brings new opportunities for us to help others.

A great example of unconditionally helping those in need is the Good Samaritan. He was not a believer and yet he showed great compassion, and great kindness towards a stranger.

We know that God’s kindness toward us is not conditional. We know that He gives us many opportunities to make things right. So, be kind to others, because God is kind to us.

What If I Judged Someone Without Knowing Their Story?

Then how would God still show kindness toward me?

God’s kindness is evident in His understanding of our weaknesses. When we judge others, He gently corrects us and helps us to see people through His eyes.

Once that happens, it should touch our hearts and bring back remembrances of those times people judged us either fairly or unfairly. How did we feel? How did we react? Were we hurt or offended?

God offers us grace and encourages us to learn from our mistakes. Because God ain’t petty, He is kind - he helps us to foster a spirit of empathy and understanding in our hearts, and to show kindness, as believers, because He is a kind God.

What If I Failed to Keep a Promise?

Then how would God still show kindness toward me?

Failing to keep a promise can hurt others and damage trust. Yet, God’s kindness is shown in His unwavering faithfulness. He doesn’t hold our failures against us but instead encourages us to make amends and strive to be more reliable. God Ain’t Petty, He is Kind, and this reassures us that we can always turn back to Him and start anew.

The story of Peter’s denial of Jesus in Luke 22:61-62 illustrates this beautifully. Although Peter broke his promise to stand by Jesus, he was forgiven and restored because of his repentance and because of God’s grace. Jesus was kind enough to receive him back and position him to further grow in grace himself.

What If I Let My Anger Get the Best of Me?

Then how would God still show kindness toward me?

When anger takes over, it’s easy to feel distant from God. However, God’s kindness is seen in His patient understanding and gentle correction. He helps us manage our emotions and provides peace through prayer and reflection. His kindness guides us toward healthier ways to express and deal with our anger.

God responds with kindness and compassion, understanding our human struggles and weaknesses. Psalm 103:8 tells us, "The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love." This verse reassures us that God's response to our outbursts is not one of immediate judgment but of patient love because God Ain’t Petty, He Is Kind!

James 1:19-20 further encourages us to be "quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." Even when we falter, God’s response is to guide us gently back to His path, offering forgiveness and a chance to grow in self-control and love. His kindness leads us to repentance and transformation, showing that His grace is greater than our moments of anger.

Conclusion

God’s kindness is a constant shining light in our lives. It doesn’t waver based on our actions but remains a steady source of love and forgiveness. No matter how many times we slip up, God always encourages us to grow and become better. So, next time you find yourself in a “What If” situation, remember that God’s kindness is there to guide you back on the right path, offering love and understanding every step of the way.

Wearing Christian Apparel To “Rep” Your Beliefs

Wearing Christian apparel is more than just a fashion statement; it's a bold way to rep your faith and share your beliefs with the world. When you sport a t-shirt with a Bible verse or a Hoodie that proclaims "Jesus is Love," you're not just wearing clothes; you're spreading the Gospel in a unique and personal way. This type of faith-based clothing allows you to carry a message of hope and love everywhere you go, sparking conversations and inspiring others. Plus, it's an additional way to stand out and show that you're proud of your faith, even in a world that often pushes it to the sidelines. It's about being a walking testimony of God's love and truth through your Christian apparel.

Wearing Christian apparel as a tool to bridge the gap between faith and everyday life is uplifting in many ways. Think of it as your way of saying, "This is who I am, and I'm not afraid to show it." Whether you're on campus, hanging out with friends, at your favorite restaurant, or scrolling through social media, your faith-based clothing can speak volumes. It's a chance to represent your values and let others see the light of Christ in you. And let's be real, it's also just a “cool way” to blend style with substance, making a statement that's both trendy and meaningful. So, rock that Christian apparel and let your wardrobe do some of the talking about the most important part of your life.
